Target 1 face-up monster you control; banish that target until the End Phase.
Whenever your opponent decides to use some cards that deter you from attacking, you can use this card to send your monster out of play to protect it, usually at the cost of getting damaged.
Seems bad? True, but some cards can use it well.

Absolute Zero is a key card in the combinations with IMT. After attacking, you can use this to wipe the field of your opponent's monsters. Not exactly a good move, but if a defensive trap is played against you (Mirror Force, D-Prison etc), using this saves your AZ and BOMBS the monsters OFF the field.

Woodsman and Ocean helps in some Hero decks, and are generally good (IMO). But the main problem is their effects can be activated only during their main phase. With IMT, your monster is usually protected until you turn, ensuring a free monster/polymerization.
It is really based on preference to get the usually better staples or IMT.
